The roadmap is a pivotal county-led document that defines a framework for action towards sustaining HIV/TB impact.
A County Transition Team (CTT), which includes the Siaya County Government, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – Kenya (CDC), CHS-Kenya, and other Implementing Partners worked hand in hand to develop this key roadmap that seeks to sustain the gains made in the county.
According to Siaya County Governor, James Orengo, the county has allocated 30% of its budget to health. However, this is not enough.
“I urge all partners to support the Department of Health in implementing this roadmap in this journey towards self-reliance and the ultimate realization of access to Universal Health services for the people of Siaya County.” H.E James Orengo.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been present in Siaya for 40 years and supporting HIV Programs for the last 20 years.
“HIV programming started as an emergency model it is time to move to a leaner model that is efficient and sustainable.” Dr Jennifer Galbraith CDC DG HT #SustainTheGains#HealthyFamiliesless
